It's been quite a while since I have last posted. It has been a busy past few weeks with working more, seeing friends when I could and trying to take some holidays.
Let's see, where to start. I have not been able to run as often as I would like, but I have still got in a couple runs a week, and some golf games. Golfing is exercise, right? Started up playing poker again, although I have not been that good at it. I should play more often to be better at it. There is a free poker night at the Cloverdale Station pub on Tuesdays, so I have take advantage of that and just had some good times with my buddy Mark. He's pretty good at it I must admit and I think after he moves into his new place we'll be doing a poker night for kicks.
I received a government grant for school, which is very exciting. It helps with school and all, obviously, but I think I'll use it in the winter/spring semester and hopefully I'll be receiving some scholarships too, to help relieve any financial stress. After buying my books, so far for 3 of the 4 classes and it costing me just over $500, I would love the money to help. I am, however, looking forward to school. New chances to learn something different, different classes, new people and we have an orientation the first week. Not happy that they orientation is all day, but it's to set us for the remainder of the program and there is a networking event to follow which is good.
On the topic of school, I just accepted a position to be a member of the President's Ambassadorial Team at Kwantlen. It's an opportunity to work along side the President of the university, work with the Surrey Board of Trade and so on. This is an opportunity I have been looking for and so I am going to do my best to make the best of it.
On Saturday I went to the AC/DC concert. It was unbelievable. Played all my favourite hits, which are all of them, and the performance was incredible. Saw a 15 minute guitar solo which was amazing as well. We had floor seats and could easily see everything. Great experience and I wish to see them again!
It's the last week of summer before school starts. I do have to work, but I am golfing tomorrow with my cousin and that'll be good, and a good long weekend with a party and a golf game. I want to make the best of it.

My first and only day off of the week!
Today is my first and only day off of the week. I figured since I revised the schedule at work that I could give myself a 6 day work week this week, and go 4 days next week... so 3 days off in row would be perfect.
It was a nice day off, so I cannot complain. I caught up on much needed sleep with waking up at 9am... and that is sleeping in to me. Well, actually, 8am is sleeping in to me but it did the job. I started off the day with a run. I've been too busy lately with work and seeing friends that I've had little time to run. Ran for about 45 minutes and probably covered some 12km or so, so I was quite happy with that. I am using a Polar GPS with the RS300X, but I had lost the signal for a short while and had to estimate that distance based on city blocks. Needless to say, I ate a big breakfast to cover the losses of the run. Tomorrow I work at 9am, however, I am off around 4, so I think it'll also be perfect to go for a run at that point.
I went to the driving range and played a little par 3 golf as well. The guy next to me at the driving range wanted to do a "driving" contest. I figured I would lose, but I pulled out my Big Bertha and showed him... or I just got lucky, but either way I'll take it. After the driving range was when I hit the pitch-and-putt course. Just 9 holes, so the par was at 27... and I shot a 25. So, now that I have mastered the short game, I think it's time to play a few par 4 courses and try to increase my game skill. I am hoping to have a better and stronger game come this September for the Annual Golf tourney. I've played with my dad in the past, so I'd like to beat him and of course, place a wager on this and make him pay for the beers in the end. ;)
I had just viewed my booklist for this fall's semester. Oh man, it might cost me over $700... just for 4 classes. It hurts. I know I make more than enough in the summer to cover the costs, but of course I always want it as low as I can get it. I'll probably check out BC Book Worm to see if I can get a better deal. I prefer new books, but sometimes it's more feasible to get used books for a lower cost. I am looking forward to school this semester, but on the other hand I really enjoy the summer break. However, I have to stop looking too far ahead with grad school. I have not even completed this program and I still keep thinking of school afterwards. I'll try to think less about it, and just focus on school for this semester. I just have to keep reminding myself that it's all worth it in the end, and that by finishing this program, it can bring me closer to my dream.
Well, that is all I have to report for today. Heather just informed me that she has arrived safely in Winnipeg. Good luck with your next journey Heather!!!

Thank-you Heather!
So after exploring a little throughout facebook earlier this evening, I discovered that my super motivated friend, Heather, has a blog. Of course, I wanted to view it and I mentioned that I was going to be blogging soon enough. She had encouraged me to start one NOW, so I did. haha Thanks Heather! I'll be checking out her blog often because I think her journey and what she is doing for school is real cool. I'm always impressed by that and by her, so I for sure want to be in the know for her journey. Great work Heather! :)
Now, I'll be blogging whenever I can... is there a BlackBerry app for this?
